An Applebee’s waitress  got the shock of her  life when she asked a customer for her ID and was  handed over her own stolen  driver’s license.

Brianna Priddy, from Colorado, never  expected to see her stolen  driver’s license again after her wallet had been  stolen weeks before.

She certainly did not expect to see it handed  to her at her place of work.

Talking to KUSA about the moment she was given her own ID, she said: 'Four people come in, walk in, sit down. They start ordering drinks. This girl hands me my ID as a fake ID!'

The customer turned out to be the person who  stole it in the first place on a night out.

Brianna has had nothing but trouble since she  had her wallet stolen – with money, credit cards, check book and her license  inside.

Since then, someone had been handing out bad  checks all over town.

Talking to KUSA about the moment she was given her own  ID, she said: ‘Four  people come in, walk in, sit down. They start ordering  drinks. This girl hands me my ID as a fake ID.

‘I didn’t say anything. I handed it back to  her and said sure I’ll be right back with your  margarita. [I] went straight to  the phone, called the cops.’

While she was waiting for the police to  arrive, she kept the table busy with  their drinks and appetizers while trying  not to react.

‘I don’t know how I kept it cool,’ she told  Fox 31. ‘I was shaking, I wanted to jump across the table and go at  her!’

When the officers arrived and arrested the  woman, they found that -  bizarrely – she didn’t even need the ID as she is  26-years-old.

She was charged with theft, identity theft,  and criminal impersonation for  this incident but further charges are expected  to be added after police  found narcotics on her possession.

Police spokesman Steve Davis called the incident a ‘shot in a million’ and said  the suspect was a ‘dumb criminal’ who is ‘in quite a bit of hot  water’.

Priddy said: ‘I  am the .0000001 per cent that that happens to.’

Police said it was one of the most bizarre  coincidences they have ever seen.
