EDMOND, Okla. —Police said a man has been arrested after he walked into an Edmond Target barefoot and left wearing a pair of high heels.
Sylas Schmiedel, 18, was arrested on a complaint of shoplifting and taken to jail for booking.
Officers said a security guard at the Edmond Super Target at 1200 E. 2nd St. told them he saw Schmiedel walking barefoot through the shoe department on Monday about 3:20 p.m. Schmiedel then took a pair of black and blue high-heeled shoes out of the box and put them on, according to investigators.
The security guard told police that Schmiedel then went into a restroom and came back out still wearing the shoes and attempted to walk out of the store without paying for them. Schmiedel told officers he needed the shoes for an upcoming drag show.
