While attending the conference at the Best Western Royal Plaza, Tyler  Buttle, 31, of 3901 Greenfield Road, Inverary, Ontario, met a woman from out of  state and went to a nearby bar with her and a few other people he met at the  conference, said prosecutor Julianne Richard.

Shortly after 2 a.m., Buttle, the alleged victim and another woman left the  bar. Buttle instructed the other woman to go back inside and tell the rest of  the group to leave. The alleged victim got into Buttle’s truck to get a ride and  Buttle drove her to a Main Street parking lot in Northborough, where he caressed  her bare buttocks, said Richard.

The woman attempted to get out of the truck, but Buttle grabbed her and once  again caressed her. The woman eventually escaped and hid behind bushes before  Buttle drove away, said Richard.

The woman ran to a nearby home for help. Northborough Police arrested Buttle  a few hours later, said Richard, who requested bail be set at $100,000.

Buttle’s attorney Mike Murray argued that the accuser was “highly  intoxicated” at the time of the incident and claimed the allegations are untrue.  Murray requested bail be set at $1,000.

Murray declined to say why Buttle was at the conference after Buttle’s  arraignment Friday in Westborough District Court.

Buttle, a senior vice president at Limestone Technologies Inc., an Odessa,  Ontario company that makes lie detection software, is married with a child and  has no criminal record, said Murray.

Buttle, who is charged with two counts of indecent assault and battery on a  person over 14 years old and one count of assault to rape, was also ordered by  Westborough District Court Judge Vito Virzi to have no contact with the alleged  victim.

Buttle will return to court Wednesday for a status hearing.
