TOWN OF MAINE — A woman faces a child endangering charge for the second time this month after her 5-year-old boy was found wandering on Edson Road after almost two hours Thursday evening, Broome County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputy Joseph Yanuzzi took a report from an adult who found the boy wandering on the roadside and later found his mother, Ericka Pease, outside her Cherry Drive home on the phone trying to locate him, police said.
Pease, 26, had been sleeping when her son got out of the house, police said. Pease had been arrested two weeks ago for a similar incident involving the boy, police said.
On Thursday, she was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, and released on an appearance ticket.
