A 26-year-old woman called the police for help when she found an unexpected surprise in front of her apartment door in Busan on Aug.
23.
A condom filled with sperm hung across her door handle.
Although she had never been bothered with phone calls or physical contacts with stalkers, she feared she was victim to indecent exposure, or “flashing.”
However, indecent exposure can only be applied when done in a public place, affecting more than one person. Thus, it will be hard to conduct an investigation under the suspicion of flashing.
Forensic experts are running DNA tests on the sperm to identify the source.
The police are searching the area for the suspect, and will file a sexual harassment case if there are follow-up crimes on the victim.
“The case is under the premise of sexual harassment rather than sexual violence at the moment,” explained one police officer. “Though the case is not under investigation as a sexual violence crime, the victim could press charges and seek compensation if she is mentally scarred.”
