Want some champagne but find those bottles on supermarket shelves too expensive? Well, here’s a cheaper alternative.
French spirits maker Moët & Chandon recently made their champagne easily available, affordable and accessible — by selling them in a vending machine.
According to an article on Luxury Daily, the vending machine is part of the holiday gift section at British department store Selfridges in London. One bottle of champagne from the unique machine will set you back by US$29 (around S$36).
While this is much more expensive than the cans of Coke you usually get, it is still affordable compared to other alcoholic drinks sold at regular stores. However, some felt that this marketing stunt has cheapened the company and brand image.
