A man needed skin from his bottom to fix his nose after his brother bit off his hooter in a fight.
Restaurant owner Steven Leslie was ordered to pay £4,000 in compensation to Andrew Leslie after chomping down on his nose during a pub brawl.
A court heard how Andrew, 45, was left with a hole in his nostril after his brother Steven, 43, “went berserk” after drinking all afternoon.
Andrew, of Pwllheli, North Wales, and a piece of his nose were rushed to hospital but surgeons were unable to reattach it.
Instead, they took a skin graft from his backside to fix the hole.
Steven was spared a jail sentence after Andrew wrote to Caernarfon crown court pleading that his brother not be locked up.
Judge Niclas Parry told Steven last week: “The plea from the victim – your brother – has saved you. But you must pay him compensation for the injury you caused.”
Steven denied a charge of unlawful wounding but the jury rejected his claim of self-defence.
He was given a two-year suspended jail sentence and ordered to carry out 300 hours’ unpaid work.
