A metro man is facing bank robbery charges for the attempted robbery of IBC Bank in Midwest City.
Authorities were called to the bank on Feb. 27 for an attempted robbery. The teller told authorities that a man entered the bank and handed her a personal check. The check reportedly said “You know what to do or we all die, I will shoot you first $500 $100 $50 $20 $10.”
According to the FBI, the suspect thought he had tripped an alarm and left the bank.
Authorities said the personal information on the check was scratched out with a pen, but on closer inspection the FBI was able to read the personal information on the check.
The next day, Christopher Fulton turned himself in to authorities after seeing a photo in the paper that looked like him.
He told the FBI that he believed his body was in the bank, but his mind was not.
According to the FBI, he said he was up for four days using methamphetamine. The FBI said he admitted to stealing the check from his mom.
Fulton was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.
