Cover your butt!
A planned faith-based water park in a tiny Texas town south of Houston has a no-thong policy that gives employees the right to ask scantily clad patrons to cover up.
“We’re a very family friendly business,” Johnny Blevins, the Splash Kingdom Family Waterparks president and CEO, told the Houston Chronicle. “Our goal is to glorify God while providing a fun, safe recreational area for families.”
The company, which boasts Bible verses on its website, already runs two parks in Texas, with a plan to open a 35-acre facility in Brazoria, a tiny outpost between Houston and the Gulf of Mexico.
“Splash Kingdom is a family friendly environment,” the company’s code of conduct reads. “No thongs or excessively revealing swimwear or denim clothing will be permitted. We reserve the right to ask a guest to use a cover-up if swimwear is deemed inappropriate.”
The alcohol-free fun land would cost about $6.5 million to build and residents will likely vote on a bond package in November.
Proponents say the park would provide jobs and fun recreation for children in the 3,000-person town.
