A 28-year-old Tucson man was arrested this week after police say he exchanged sexually explicit photos and messages with an 11-year-old girl on Facebook and tried to meet with her.
Jesus Ballesteros was taken into custody Thursday and booked into Pima County jail on suspicion of aggravated luring of a minor, attempted child prostitution, attempted sexual exploitation of a minor and attempted sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Tucson Police Department.
Police began investigating Ballesteros Dec. 29 after the girl’s mother called police and told officers she saw inappropriate messages on her daughter’s Facebook account, SAID Detective Daniel Barry of the Tucson Police Family and Youth Services Section.
On Thursday, police say Ballesteros arranged a meeting with the girl. He was arrested by plain clothes police officers, who were assisted by U.S. Marshals.
Tucson Police detectives determined that Ballesteros contacted other underage girls online.
Detectives encourage parents to check the Facebook accounts of their children and call police if they see Ryan Aclown — the name Ballesteros used on the website.
